Active presentation, creative performance, over 30 business meetings - this is roughly how we could characterize our participation at the Argus Africa 2018 conference in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia with over 100 million inhabitants.
The country appears poor on the outside, but inside it is strong and proud of its past, with enormous agricultural potential. This is characterized by 80% of the population being oriented towards agricultural production.
Considering that the number of cattle, sheep, goats, sheep, and poultry reaches about 100 million annually, Ethiopia is a huge potential for the production of amino acid fertilizers due to the amount of animal waste.
Our mission of ecological transformation, self-sufficiency of the country in the production of bio-fertilizers and food security of Ethiopia was embraced by the Minister of Agriculture and Development H.E. Eyasi Alle and the Minister of Livestock and Fisheries H.E. Fedaku Beyene, as well as the ministers' advisor Dr. Thomas Cherenet.
We received maximum support from H.E. Jozef Cibula, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Ethiopia. We especially appreciate his sincere interest in implementing our plans and his daily assistance.
The Amhara region is among the most fertile and most developed in agricultural production within the federation. Over 30 million heads of cattle, sheep, goats, and 30 million poultry provide us with an opportunity to establish our experience from a comprehensive production program.
The Director General of the State Investment Office expressed interest in cooperation.
At the same time, it is a challenge for us to make this region, most affected by poverty in the Horn of Africa, freer and less dependent on food imports. We managed to develop this topic during an informal meeting with the President of the UN General Assembly and Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajčák during his official visit to Ethiopia.
Mr. Wondeeesen Belay provided us with maximum help and comfort during our stay for our, we believe, joint future plans in the territory of Ethiopia.
Mission conclusions:
- Ecology is no longer just formally discussed; bio-fertilizers have been established through practical application among farmers.
- Producers of chemical fertilizers are forced to start innovating their products by mixing them with bio-fertilizers.
- Our work has a higher purpose - a Healthier and Better World!
