China is penetrating here through various channels – the most notable among them are the new Silk Road project and the project within the China + 16 Central and Eastern European countries initiative, or various provincial and nationwide social organizations under the wings of the respective ministry.
On April 17, 2018, the Slovak-Chinese Business Forum 2018 took place in Bratislava in the Congress Hall of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The Chinese side at this event was represented by a delegation of business entities united by the Chinese national organization under the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, the Council for Promoting South-South Cooperation (CPSSC) from Beijing. Its chairman, Mr. LU Xinhua, brought representatives from the banking sector, industry, and agriculture – in total, there were 19 companies, several of which are large manufacturing and trading conglomerates. In the B2B negotiations, more than 60 Slovak companies sat opposite them with corresponding business profiles – among them was also the company Rokosan, s.r.o.
Direct negotiations were the focal point of the forum. The general message emerged from the speeches of representatives of the participating organizations (SOPK – chairman Mr. Peter Mihók, MFAEA – Mr. Dušan Matulay, Ambassador of the PRC in the Slovak Republic – H.E. Mr. Lin Lin) and mainly consisted of the real perspective of increasing mutual trade, especially from the side of Slovak companies.
It should be emphasized that the company Rokosan, s.r.o. and its activities in the territory of the PRC have been ongoing since 2003, when we began the certification process. We successfully obtained a patent for our technology in the PRC in 2013. The innovative waste-free technology for processing animal waste into amino acid fertilizers of the highest quality was also the reason why among 100,000 applicants, our company was selected in 2017 among 43 European companies for the EU Gateway China – Clean Technologies mission as the only one from Slovakia.
This fact also attracted other Chinese companies beyond the B2B negotiations, and this is proof that the products of Rokosan are of interest even to a trading superpower like the PRC certainly is today.
